Viridis® Active

Viridis® Active was developed to meet the growing demand for concrete ecological alternatives to rubber and pvc. Viridis® is an innovative bio-based material, obtained from corn, wheat and viscose, reaching 69% bio content, as certified by the United States Department of Agriculture. Viridis® has been OEKO-TEX certified, guaranteeing the health of consumers. As shown in the Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) report, the production technology, developed specifically for Viridis®, uses biobased raw materials that have a very limited environmental impact compared to traditional ones.

Viridis®

Viridis® was born from the desire of Panama Trimmings to innovate with new materials for a greener future. Viridis® was developed to meet the growing demand for concrete ecological alternatives to leather. Viridis® is an innovative bio-based material, obtained from corn, wheat and viscose, reaching 69% bio content, as certified by the United States Department of Agriculture. This 100% animal free material is soft and the appearance is very similar to real leather. Initially developed to meet the demands of sustainable labels for clothing, Viridis® is now recognized as a raw material for the production of accessories such as bags, shoes, belts and over time has gained notoriety in other sectors as well. Given the multiple uses of the material, Viridis® has been OEKO-TEX certified, guaranteeing the health of consumers. As shown in the LCA report, the production technology, developed specifically for Viridis®, uses biobased raw materials that have a very limited environmental impact.

Natural Dyeing

Natural dyeing goes back to ancient times when great tinctorial properties of flowers, husks, peels, plants and roots were largely used. Evidence of textile dyeing dates back to the Neolithic period. The discovery of man-made synthetic dyes in the mid-19th century triggered a long decline in the large-scale market for natural dyes. Synthetic dyes which could be quickly produced in large quantities superseded natural ones. In the early 21st century, the market for natural dyes in the fashion industry is experiencing a revival. Consumers have become more concerned about the health and environmental impact of synthetic dyes in manufacturing and there is a growing demand for products that use natural dyes. Help has arrived from a new technology capable of using natural dyes giving good colours consistency and resistance. It's the first 100% organic dyeing system using only plants and vegetable waste which are dried and infused with no chemical additives that are harmful.
